Ori and the Blind Forest Review

Ori_and_the_Blind_Forest_logoNot to be fooled by the stunning scenic details and soothing soundtrack, this game is no easy achievement-collecting walk in the park. Moon Studios have created a masterpiece; from the heart-warming (or breaking) cutscenes to the rage inducing challenges of Nibel. This game could easily be described as the best looking 2D game ever made.

Although, unlike most mainstream games nowadays, the game developers haven’t set all of their efforts into the graphics and the game actually contains a story with substance. It is simple but touching and the amazing game mechanics add greatly to the fluidity and overall enjoyment of the game. Although, the original game is no longer available for purchase on Steam due to the “Definitive Edition” which is the original game with even more content to add to the overall playtime.

If you enjoyed Ori and the Blind Forest like I did, I would recommend Nihilumbra, Cave Story+ & Aquaria.

    • Thank you! Without giving too much away, the whole point of the game is to restore the light of the three main elements: Winds, Waters and Warmth which are taken from the forest due to a ruinous event at the start of the game. The achievements give you a reason to play through more than once, so it’s definitely worth the purchase 🙂
